Sorry for the off-topic post, but I can't help myself, and I know at least a couple of others on here ride as well. Didn't really like the Harley I won last year, so I traded it in for something more suited to my motoring taste and history. This is my third Triumph, and it has everything I love about the XKR but on two wheels. Not quite as comfortable as the XK, but its lines are equally glorious to me, and the big twin has a ton of torque on tap anywhere in the rev range.
I've had Harley's BMW's Honda's Yamaha's, Triumph's and my last 2 wheeler was a Vespa. I miss them all but my ageing body and people who can't drive put an end to them. So I'll be happy with my XKR. Nice Triumph.
You WON a Harley? You have to tell us the story. Slot machine grand prize? Poker match? Bar bet? Did you hustle someone at 8 ball?
Nothing that sexy, but equally improbable. Got an ad on my Facebook feed for a charity raffle and read the fine print saying no purchase was necessary as required by law and a free entry was available by simply clicking on a link.I clicked on the link and a couple weeks later I got an email saying I was a potential winner provided I was over 18. Nobody believed me until I actually took delivery. The site even sent me a check for $6,600 to cover the taxes for winning the bike. Craziest thing that's ever happened to me.
You have great taste in bikes, the cars not bad either.. my bike has to go now following knee problems, oh well..

Marriage and kids seemingly put an end to my bikes 18 years ago, but it's hard to argue against a free Harley. The Harley didn't end up being my cup of tea, but it rekindled my love for bikes. I definitely get that age makes riding a little harder, but I also have a sense of urgency now to catch up on all the riding I missed before I physically can't anymore.

Exactly my feeling. Got rid of my last Ducati 749S 6 years ago. My solution to the urge to ride has been doing guided motorcycle tours in Europe with touring companies. This year will be my consecutive 14th tour ( Iv'e used 3 moto-tours companies). So I go ride on some of the world's absolute best roads for 2 weeks, get it out my system , and I'm good for another year. Actually, doing these moto tours also contributed to my decision to get rid of my last bike- every year I rode less and less back home after the tours, until the last 2 years the Duc just basically sat there in the garage...... Wife is much happier with this arrangement also - she hated all my Ducatis/motorcycling.
