Stillen makes conversion kits for G35 and Z350s, and you might inquire with them to see if one of their kits would work for you. They have many different bolt lengths for the tow hook connection. I didn't turn anything up anything specifically for the XK on my google search for you, but happily discovered that we don't have to have a front plate in Texas any more. I'll stop worrying every time I pass a patrolman now!

I did a quick check and as far as I can tell a front licenase plate is still required in Texas...You might check your source...I would be happy if we didn't have to have a front plate tho...

You are correct. After looking into it further, the house bill that was referenced did not pass, so we still are required to drill holes in our front bumpers. Guess I'll have to go back to getting nervous around the law. I hate the thought of having to do that to my car. I did see a post that someone else has used double sided tape successfully. Must be pretty strong stuff.

Use body panel/trim tape. It is definitely strong enough and shouldn't damage the finish if you want to remove it. Right now I'm running illegally and plan to continue until I get busted, then I'm doing the body tape route.

Where do you live that requires a tow hook on the front of your car?

That's where I got mine for my 2010 XKR, very well made. Easy on/off, but I leave mine on. It will show up on your parking sensor, as the plate blocks the right front sensor, but no big deal.

Hey 2010XKR, did you buy the one listed for the 2011 XKR? That fits on a 2010? Let me know, if it does I'm buying it now. Looks good, priced well also.

Thanks,
Skeeter

Will the Show and Go license plate bracket work on a late model XKR? My dealer just got my plates in and I hate the thought of drilling holes in my front bumper (front plates are required by law in my state)

The Texas legislature has created a problem with the enforcement of the current license plate regulations. It appears you can be ticketed and fined for a false or altered license plate, But the fine for no license plate (front or rear) has disappeared. Governor has asked Atty Gen for opinion:

Vehicle Code updated
As part of the update, the new law deleted the license plate statute, returning parts of it to Section 502.473 and 504.943. In moving around the legal language, the bill went through the entire legislative process without anybody noticing that a key line was deleted without providing a replacement: "An offense under this section is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $200."

Without the line, it is not clear whether police officers or courts would have the authority to impose a punishment on drivers who chose not to display license plates or registration stickers, especially in jurisdictions that still use red light cameras. Driving with a false or altered plate remains a misdemeanor, however. Lawmakers will not have a chance to remedy their mistake until January 8, 2013 when the legislature reconvenes, unless Governor Perry calls a special session specifically to address the license plate issue.

The Texas legislature meets for 140 days every 2 years.
Some wish, as I, that is was for 2 days every 140 years....

Another idea Guys; just make two 'L' shaped brackets (a short and long leg) and mount short leg under the lower air dam. Then you can place them anywhere you want (laterally)! And the long leg should go UP of course!
That's how Boeing would do it! KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid!)
Just a thought..................
