I recently bought an almost immaculate 2002 XKR but it was suffering with very badly corroded pillar trims. I have read elsewhere that the internal metal surrounded by rubber perishes as a result of a flawed etching process during manufacture. Anyway, after searching for replacement left and right side components I ended up thinking it was going to be a scrap yard search however.....
I called in to a local Hardware store (B & Q) and had a look around. I found some plastic trim and as it was less than £4 I bought some. Unbelievable! It not only fitted perfectly but the design has ensured it stays firmly in place. My main concern was whether it would compromise water tightness but a thorough test with a pressure washer proved all was well.
