From my other post about inspection results, the next thing on my list to review is the front upper control arms and the right hand side one in particular.
I've taken some pictures, first RHS ball-and-socket and steering connector then LHS to try and show what was pointed out to me at the dealership. The mechanic said he heard a squealy sound when turning the car into the work bay but I've never heard anything while driving. Is this a case of broken/missing boots to cover the joint or is the joint showing signs of wear that require replacing?
While I was looking at the joints, I noticed that the RHS wheel spun much more freely than the LHS (could hear the light friction). I'd hate to burn up the brake pads unnecessarily, not to mention MPGs... is this normal?
Thanks!

That last picture will probably need some attention. For the others, if there is no slop or wiggle they should be fine.
The one wheel may just have a slightly dragging brake pad. Did you stomp on the brakes before or after checking? That may make a difference in comparing the two sides. Disk brakes do somewhat drag just a bit.
Thanks Cee Jay - I found out that the piece which looks like it needs a change is the LHS outer tie rod end. Looks like that may be quite a simple (and cheap) fix!
I should have added: I don't recall using the brakes heavily prior to jacking the car up. I'll try it again with a light foot and see how they spin!
