Fully charged battery get low battery warning
#21
Listen to music more than 3 minutes ?
I was one of those who, a year ago, senselessly replaced a top condition XK battery at no purpose, because I hadn't read “Ngarara” post, so I initially actually believed the "warning".
QUOTE: “The warning is misleading. It comes on any time the car has been in 'convenience' mode (i.e. all powered up & ready for lift off) for more than some fixed period like 5 or 10 minutes. “
Now, the world is full of ridiculous warnings to be ignored, but a more PRACTICAL issue:
I get this warning, and it then really switches off after 3 minutes, even if I ONLY activate the STEREO (no convenience mode).
With a top condition charged battery one would think that a stereo would run for days before that large battery is drained.
I have had vintage cars where that has been the case (forgot the stereo on, and it still runs days later).
=> Is there no way to be able to sit and listen to music in an XK for more than 3 minutes without the engine running ?
Thanks in advance.

.....and does anyone have an answer to the question:
=> Is there no way to be able to sit and listen to music in an XK for more than 3 minutes without the engine running ?
Or am I the one only one who thinks it is odd to have to bring a portable active speaker for the IPOD if ever wanting to have music without the engine running, when there is a fully charged 90Ah battery in the boot ?

Pretty sure that we all think that the battery draw thing is odd. I'd say half of the posts on this forum have to do with issues caused by partially discharged batteries. That being said, and several here would agree with me - I don't drive the XKR for the sound system, and might not even notice if it was gone, unless I was on a long road trip.
