Jag geniuses do any of you know how to get the garage door remote in the car to work. I’ve tried everything I know to include reading the manual and following it step by step. Do any of you have any tricks or answers on why I can’t get my car unit to work other than I may be brain dead and the controls are smarter than the operator. Please help

Lots of people will tell you to get a 'bridge' or something similar, I can't rightly remember for sure. They take the HomeLink transmission and send it to the opener.
Me, I followed the directions in the manual and programmed my CAR to transmit the correct frequency using the original remote, then programmed the opener from the programmed car. Course, that may be a 2010+ maneuver only.

What Cee Jay said ^^^^^
Depending on the brand or age of opener, you may need a bridge.
Or in my case, when I was trying to add a third car, you need to read the instructions more carefully, including those from your opener.
Once I got the sequence right, and reprogrammed all three cars, they then worked.

Jerome,
Garage door opener technology varies. If your opener is fairly new, you'll need a bridge as mentioned above. Otherwise, my Post #7 from this 2011 thread might be the answer:

Good luck!

Like they said, if it is indeed a bridge required, the older Jag Homelink system isn't compatible with the new Homelink signal standards in newer garage openers. My Jag worked perfect with my old garage door unit, when I had to replace the opener with a newer model it would not work without using the Homelink Bridge linked below. Simple process, program the Jag to the Bridge device (they provide a clicker to use for programming your car) and voila, works great. Jag signals bridge which then signals the garage door opener.
