Default gasoline station display

I wish I had a photographic memory but alas…

The other day my 2008 xk was low on fuel, I was @ 15 miles from any gasoline stations and kept driving. A warning appeared in the instrument cluster…low fuel…yeh I know.

A bit further down the road the warning appeared again but this time the nav screen had a written warning stating something like’…warning low fuel, gasoline stations will be displayed on the nav screen’.

Can anyone enlighten me about this gasoline station wording etc?

It's a Nav courtesy. The Nav Screen does that every time fuel gets low. Now how ACCURATE is it? That depends on the age of your maps disk.

I'm not sure what the question is? Many satnav systems will automatically offer to display the nearest fuel station once notified by the ECU that fuel is running low.

I guess I had never run the car that low in fuel and never had seen such a warning/statement. Since everything @ where I live changes so frequently it didn't make sense to me that the nav display could possibly display a gasoline station...it might be a fast food or bar today! and tomorrow something else!!

Yep, only as current as your nav disk.
Had that message, and nav display of gas stations once. Returning home after a long days drive, and running on fumes.
