Default Goodbye all!

My 2007 XKR has gone to a new owner. He promised to take care of her and give me dibs if he sells. Local guy so I'll probably see the car.

She had the radar cruise, ACM, HKS Camp2 and a Quaife to name a few goodies. Most of which I did a DIY thread on. She was just about perfect.

Sometimes you have to move on. Wife and I moved to a new state. We just weren't driving it much anymore and I had to borrow a garage to keep it in.

I learned a lot on this forum and contributed when I could.

Thank you all for the camaraderie and hospitality!

John (flyc2c)

Beautiful car (and not just since its my twin cosmetically)! Don't be a stranger and maybe if circumstances change, you might be back.

Was the Quaife worth it?

No.

It was worth double.

Seriously. Transformed the car. If I ever buy another 4.2 XK(R) it would be the first thing I'd do. Even before pulling fuse 19.

Does it work with/fit 5.0 cars (e-diff)?

Nope. E-diff is limited slip that's electronically controlled. Quaife is a Torsen type diff that only works in the 4.2's.

John,

Best wishes to you both in your new location. Shame the XKR had to go but I can see there was little point keeping it when you weren't driving it much and had to borrow a garage for it.

Don't become a stranger. Ownership is not a requirement!

Graham

Wow, sad day... Sorry to see you go, got a lot out of your postings.
As said above, don’t be a stranger, and maybe that opportunity to buy your baby back will come at a better time for you.
Best wishes to you and yours.

Nice looking car, glad it got a good home that gave you a buy-back option. When you see it around town on a nice summer day you may feel that draw...

Thank you Graham and kj for the kind words.

It's definitely not what I expected. The car lived outside for 4 months before which broke my heart. My new neighbor offered his spare garage bay one day. I had the car for sale last year for a good price and the gentleman had stopped to look. The car didn't sell. Yesterday he walks in my driveway and asks if I still have it and if I'd sell.
The price was fair, he's a great guy, he lives in town. It just felt right. Every practical fiber in my body said sell. The little whisper said keep but this argument has been going on for months.

Who knows. May end up with a late year 5.0 XKR someday. I love the face lift.

I'll check in from time to time.

Don't feel too bad though, I still have my airplane.
