Installed this almost a year ago but forgot to post pics. Original design is an active spoiler, but they custom made this because I didn't want problems with the motor and they are based in England. Came with upper and lower spoiler. No third brake light and the new fin is smaller and had to be pushed back. Lower spoiler I wrapped gloss black and upper wrapped flat black.
When guys use a 1-10 scale on difficulty for a job, a five for someone is a 9 for me. Having said that I decided I wanted to do this project. The lower spoiler on the bottom edge doesn't meet the surface but at least is uniform and not that obvious. No one has said anything about it. I have multiple holes drilled in my trunk because I got it wrong. I can't remember everything but in order to keep the spoilers secure it wasn't easy. It became clear to me halfway through it was harder than I thought it would be, but I forged on and the way things were going I'm very happy how it turned out. To my credit, the lower spoiler did not sit flush at all on the trunk. The lower is fiberglass so it took alot of creativity to get it like that. The upper is some sort of special plastic they use. It flexes with pressure but never seen it move in my mirror even at high speeds.
Cool but I don't like those silver/aluminum rods that hold the upper spoiler, spoils the look as they are so visible.
Think painting them black or anodizing black if aluminum would make it look better.:-)
£1200 fitted inc doesn't seem that unreasonable for anyone in the UK.
The only reasons I'd not consider are that
1)A REAL active spoiler fitted from factory will raise/lower dependant on speed, this seems purely manually adjusted by the driver.
2) It seems to only come in black which IMO will look great on a black car, but on my white (even with black pack and black vents) would look...well...slightly rice.
Please share what you paid without the fiiting and motors, also if the boot/trunk is harder to open with the extra weight?
I thought about the rods but then they grew on me. Powder coating would look best but not worth paying for a minimum charge at shop. The spoilers actually come primered white for painting but I opted to wrap. They are pretty light so weight isn't an issue on the trunk. You can feel the extra weight when opening it though. It was awhile ago but I think I paid around $900 shipped to the U.S. I think he took off around 30% because I didn't need the motor. I wouldn't have bought it for full price plus shipping. It would have been over $1500. I was surprised that I'm the only one in the U.S. that has one so far. I think if they offered it stationary for the price I paid, people outside of England would consider it. I just didn't like any of the few options we had here so I took a gamble.
