Default Great Deal 2008 Portfolio XKR

They dropped the Price to $40,000, This cars sticker was $106,700. Portfolio was a $12,000 Option. This car is perfect, I thought about selling mine with 31,000 miles and buying this. I would like to see someone on the forum get it who appreciate
Cars for Sale: 2008 Jaguar XK R Convertible in Bluffton, SC 29910: Convertible Details - 362525217 - AutoTrader.com

Its a 2008 XKR Portfolio with 19,000 miles. Only 138 2008 Portfolio convertiables shipped to the US. This one has the hand rubbed walnut dash. Celestial Black is has the blue flecs and looks black on a cloudy day but blue in sunlight and under artificial light. Google 2008 Portfolio XKR and read the Car and Driver and Dupont articles. You will fall in love. They want $46,000 but that is a fair price.

Jim:

Nice find with one owner and low mileage. When someone finds an XKR like this, you have to jump on it. This one won't last long. The dark Blue with the Beige interior has a real "rich" look. In addition, it looks like it has the Alcon brake system which was about a $5000 option. (Note the red calipers) Very nice find.

Carfax looks very clean with no reported problems at all:

If I wanted another XKR, this would be a great choice.

All the best,

$40,000 is a terrific price especially being a Portfolio Edition and convertible + having the Alcon brake system.

Low mileage, only 3200 mile average per year since new.

What more could you ask for.

Anyone looking for a nice Jaguar XKR Convertible wanting to budget their funds in this range, this is an very attractive and acceptable choice.

Those are really awesome wheels--probably the best looking of the 4.2L XK range.

These are indeed rare, but when I was searching for my 2007 XKR, there always seemed to be one or two '08 Portfolio verts on eBay. I don't think they had mileage this low, though.

Default Coming back to the XK(R) family...

I missed my two previous XKs. My '12 XJL is beautiful but, rides like a worn-out clunker. Not getting any satisfaction from Jaguar NA so, I will likely dump it.

So, what to get instead? Looked and test drove the V8S and V6 base F-type and it just fails to excite me. After the test drives I walked over and sat in an XKR and, YEEEESSS, I prefer it without a doubt. Considered a Z51-equipped new Stingray but, after all dicing with the variables the classic lines of the XK won me over.

So, I am happy to announce that I am in the process of purchasing an Ebony/Black '10 XKR with less than 6K original miles. I did not think that I really needed 510HP, as 385HP in that car is more than enough unless tracking it. However, I am done with racing and track driving. But, this car and the price was too good to pass up, so XKR it is.

I will look real close to modding it, lowering the suspension mainly, putting in a good performance alignment and who-knows what else.

Edit - Sorry, I wan intending to post this under a new thread.

I posted this on another thread:

It seems to have been serviced consistently by New River Auto Mall in Hardeeville, SC - could be worth giving their service department a call on 843 208-1258 and asking them what they can tell you about the car. They're not selling it, so they have no skin in the game.

I tried to buy it today but somebody from Michigan bought it according to the dealer, so I'm still looking.

Good luck, carlprs - hope it's as good a car as you'd wish. I chose my car without seeing it in the metal, though the deal was contingent on a successful test drive & inspection. It's worked out just fine for me - I'm always slightly boggled when the guys on the forum talk about buying cars that they don't get to see or drive until after the deal is done. I guess it's all about the distances in the US; I only had to take a 1-hour train ride to Coventry.

Default 2008 XKR Portfolio

carlprs,
I was the guy from Michigan but backed out. I have the same car but without the adaptive speed control, a $2400 option. That car has 12,000 less miles than mine and was tenderly cared for by the prior owner. The car fax shows he/she had the seats treated multiple times. That is a great deal on a car that had a sticker of $106,700.00. I decided to keep mine looks perfect runs perfect and I got a good deal on it. But I am a little obsessive compulsive and saw a better deal. I am very happy someone on the forum got the car, you will love the way it sounds, drives and looks. The 20" Cremora Rims and 15" Alcon brakes are awesome. Watch out for Smokey
