Had to do it , front plate
#21
I also have a front plate. But I basically mounted it using one of those cheap $5 plate holders like this:
However, I mounted it over the front grille. To do this I used toggle bolts, and some thick rubber dishwasher tube, which provides the spacing. The plate hovers over the grille and doesn't move in high speed. We'll see how the rubber holds up through the years, but it has been fine for 18 months now!

The result is not bad.

I considered that unit but there is not enough room under the center section of the bumper. You would have to mount it under the nose to have room for the lower bracket. If you want a low plate then it will work but if you mount it close to the original mount it won't work. I know it won't on the 2010-2014 front but maybe the older years it will work.

That is inventive.
I assume the bolts go through the center of the tubing to prevent damage to the grille as well as provide the spacing - do you need four bolts to keep it steady or will two suffice?
I've never had to keep a front plate on my Jags other than using a zip tie just to pass inspections, but someone in my Jag Club just got a ticket for not having a plate on his F-Type...

NMDOT just banned them, as well as the vans, from State and Federal roadways. They are still in use in several areas (Rio Rancho is one of them and I believe Santa Fe is another) Albuquerque removed them all together.

While I'm not a fan of speed cameras, mostly because their connection with road safety is debatable and they're much more about revenue generation, red-light cameras are a different matter. Having narrowly missed being t-boned on more than one occasion by idiots deliberately running the lights at speed because they didn't want their oh-so-important journey delayed, anything that makes the buggers think twice is OK in my book.

Here in Nevada no traffic conviction can be made based purely on video or photographic evidence. In theory, this is because such evidence breaches the right of the individual to face their accuser and there is the 5th amendment issue of admitting who was driving the car. In the UK the right to silence on this matter was done away with by Parliament. Not. Happening. Here.
However, another reason the likes of red light cameras are banned in Nevada is they are unable to distinguish between Joe Public and off duty police officers, their spouses, council members and their spouses, casino executives and their spouses.... getting the small town message here?
