Default Had to mention it , little sad

Yesterday I saw a news article and it was talking about a drone in the sky over the freeway fire out in Ca. It mentioned because there was a drone in the air they couldn't bring in aircraft to put out all of the cars and trucks on the freeway that were caught when the flames jumped the freeway. Then they showed a picture of some of the burned out cars. One picture got me as it was a car carrier which must have been transporting cars . On the bottom deck was an early model XKE convertible that was nothing but a burned out shell. When I had my car shipped I was concerned about a snow storm or ice but I would have never considered a forest fire. You never know

The car had recently been bought and was on its way for a complete restoration by the new owner located in Laguna (I think). The last I heard he is planning on restoring it (If possible)

Geez, that's sad. Not only for our passion, but for the many individuals caught up in it.
Having a drone be an interference, is un-thinkable!

They interviewed him on TV on KCAL9 news about a week ago. I think he is an ex-pat Brit who lives in Torrance and already had a very nice white 65 or 65 E-Type convertible. He'd bought this one in OK somewhere and had been out there 4-5 times to look at it before pulling the trigger. Evidently it was quite original and unrestored with the original door cards, seats etc. which all now need to be replaced. I think the E-Type that was on the car carrier was a 62 Series 1 and he was just trying to get an earlier model. When they spoke to him he didn't actually know what was left of it but was planning to restore it.
