I had mine done at 69,000 miles. It was dark, but also still in reasonable viscosity and slippery-ness.

The supercharger has to be removed in order to replace the oil? Were any coolant pipes replaced when it was off? What ballpark price does this cost if you dont mind me asking?

I just bought the kit where you siphon old oil out through the front of the supercharger, could have did it myself but in my old age I am lazy.

Walk into a GM or Ford dealer’s parts counter. That supercharger oil is manufactured by Eaton. Get two bottles at a very good price.
Walk into any auto supply store and pick up the 250 ml needle with a 2-3 mm hose attachment. Tada, your kit.

The 4.2L, as I understand, is fairly straightforward as it can be siphoned out of the front of the supercharger via the fill plug. The 5.0L is much more difficult and either required the supercharger to be removed, or lots of patience and following George05's advice in the following thread:

It's at the left front of the supercharger body. It's hard to access with the coolant hoses in the way.
