Default Has anyone seen/driven this car?

Priced just dropped $5,000 into what I'd call bargain territory:

Looks like a great buy. I was looking to buy another one before Covid pricing started, and that's about what you could find a car for three years ago. But lately, nice cars are closer to $40K rather than $20K. If you don't take it, I may have to.

My son, who bought a 2007 about six months ago, now has it in the shop and the shop says "needs a new engine, give me $18,000". Something about "metal got into the engine, supercharger and engine are garbage now". No word on HOW the metal got in, but my kid first thought dude said "catalytic converter blew apart and sent pieces into the engine". Now, we ALL know THAT can't be right... Kid is supposed to get a detailed scope of work, but they haven't given him one yet. Kind of sucks he's over a thousand miles from me.

I sort of thought about buying THIS one you speak of, then trading him and then fixing it myself, but that's a LONG tow job. Plus, I'm not super duper rich anyway.
First indication of a problem was "Circuit high $3 injector". Weird.

If it's bargain priced, there's a reason. There's very little information on this XKR, particularly with 4 owners, undescribed accident damage, and no maintenance history.

Are you buying someone else's problems?

Not saying this is the case with your incident it could be anything however with my xk I had a issue with the tensioners (slack chain) from there the chain starting running on the inside of the head . Little fragments of metal then blocked the oil feed/passageways into the rod bearings resulting in a scored crankshaft and spun bearing whilst quite rare it can happen on the 'builtproof' aj34

Doesn't the dash look as if it's buckling and needs a recover? That's some big dollars right there to take into consideration + any additional unknowns.Repairs on our cars do add up fast! A thorough inspection is definitely a prerequisite before purchase. PS... This car has been available for a considerable period of time. Attractive prices can be there for a reason.

This is my Jag minus the "R", same color, same interior, same wood type, same black top and only 4K less than mine when I purchase it in 2020
I got mine with a clean CarFax out the dealers door for 22K (that included 6% sales tax)
Mines been basically trouble free except for TPM and battery. New TPM, battery and CTech has made it a fun car to own. Like my wheel design better too.
Don't think I would have bought mine if it were a XKR, didn't need the speed nor another headache with a supercharger.
Lots of unanswered question on this one, I guess a phone call could help.

That would technically make THREE cars, otherwise I'd be all over it.

Possibly, but impossible to tell. It sat at $28,900 for a while before the drop. Maybe there are no Kansas City buyers?

Sorry JBMI I would rather be missing a fender than the "R", just my opinion .

The price is attractive. What was the nature of the "accident" shown in the description. Seller has advertised the car for over 111 days and probably doesn't want to sit on it going into winter. Perhaps his "local" market is not right for the Jag or there is something else incorrect with the car. Color me slightly suspicious.
