As a black-car owner, I see both sides.
Yes it is a PAIN. But, my opinion, no color looks better when clean (save for a PERFECT British Racing Green). And credit where credit is due: I think the Germans do black better.
Never been a white or Silver car guy.
In this car, I also love the Vapor Grey (the lighter grey option, I think the darker one is too close to black and always looks off to me). I've never seen the Sapphire Blue, but I hear it's lovely.

Plus on the truck you have only one horizontal panel that you can see, the hood, so put a clear film on the entire hood.
I guess that's just a little to much for just a work truck. It's new with 6000 miles on it so being our 4th vehicle which is used for transporting fire wood and building supplies and plowing the driveway it will just take the weekly car wash . When it gets to bad I'll just get it buffed.

Black wheels are just paint, there isn't anything more difficult to keep them clean than silver wheels. One good use of the brake pedal and it doesn't matter silver or black.

I keep them clean when it comes black, silver, or chrome I find clean wheels and tires are more important to a car looking good at a glance than perfect paint on the body.

Yes, it demands time and attention. But who doesn't enjoy caressing those beautiful lines, lingering over the subtly nuanced curves, and wiping the renegade drips of moisture from her ebony body. what other color is capable of looking so sinister and yet so elegant. And on a warm Miami night it 's worth every minute just to watch the street lights reflections dance across the hood while flying across the MacArthur causeway.

Same here. Most cars sooner or later just become metal boxes to my eye. I am constantly awestruck when I see elements of the xk under shop lights as I am working on something else. BTW, wasnt that a scene from Miami Vice, in his black Daytona on the causeway?

It may be a work truck, but paint still cost the same to paint it as it does your Jag.
Anywayz, its $50 for the ceramic and $100 for the clear film. You will easily make that back on the trade.

I understand that London black cab drivers must have "The Knowledge".
This is an 18 to 24 month school they must attend in order to obtain the cabbie license.
Look it up on the internet. It is intense training on directions, navigation , location and history. Those guys are quiet knowledgeable.

If not the MacArthur, it was one of the causeways as I remember tuning in every Friday at 10PM.

Most likely, though my favorite scene was from

at 06:44 and Phil Collins...it was real, wasn't it?

A couple of years back I had 4 black cars that were down to me to clean:
Range Rover
XKR 100
Audi A4
Vauxhall Corsa

What a nightmare trying to clean them in any kind of direct sunlight, especially as the water supply here is really hard.

After struggling and bitching for a year or so I cracked and went and bought a DI filter system.

Never has so little outlay saved so much grief on a weekly basis.

Wash, spray, leave to dry. Mirror finish.

The moral of that story is; when you are open to change- you can change the game.

I am in a same boat- I can wash my car is 7 minutes or less, in my suit.
All without a single bucket or towel. Thanks to hydrophobic coating.
Spray with with foam, rinse, use leaf blower. Not a drop of water on the car or me.

^ great example of unrealized bigotry.
Ask yourself what label can be forced upon you that is unwarranted- none!

Where is bigotry? That is a black car owner. Nothing bigoted, nothing untrue, nothing untoward.
SOME people look to be offended by the simplest and most benign of events. Some people go to the ultimate extreme to be ridiculously "PC" and call out others who are not so inclined to follow the extreme views of others.
I thought it was clever.
I'm a white car owner. So what's the big deal????

I don't think Q&C understands my hats-off tribute to Miles Davis sitting on his Lamborghini Miura.

No,
That is the King of Blues
He could even be identified as a Lamborghini owner
The last thing he should be identified with is the color of his skin.

And as per the bellyaching about trivial things, yeah, how many times do we have to hear your poor sob story about michelin tires or apple phones. That's privilege.

In fact Ceejay,
You would be crying foul and posting emoji's of thread hijacked just for diverting from the subject of the color of cars.

Dont act like you dont know.

*sigh*
Some people also ruin a perfectly decent thread..... and forum. It's sad, really.
