Default HeadLamp Lense Assembly Crack/Melt!

Before I purchased this vehicle the passenger side headlamp was mildly cracked. This annoyed me and I have planned on replacing it for some time. I was inspecting it yesterday and noticed some of the internal housing of the assembly has begun to melt possibly as a result of the crack. So a few questions:

1.) I have the directional headlights, if I purchased an assembly that was non-directional off ebay or elsewhere (because it is cheaper) could they housing be used to replace my existing housing and allow me to keep the functionality of the direction headlights?

2.) Why would there be a melting to deal with in the first place, non-oem bulbs perhaps?

3.) Please take a look at the photos I am attaching, tell me whats up. Am I on the right track here?

They are in my public drop box folder here:

Or individually here:

Cant help ya with the housing differences and just how much can be moved between them, but I would check those bulbs to see if they are correct.

I have known owners of other car brands try to "up" the wattage of factory fog lights, only to have the plasti-chrome reflector melt and burn off! I took it as a lesson not to do major wattage increases without thinking about heat dissipation at the same time...
Perhaps this has happened to others with an XK series, but your the first I have read about so far, so I would dig a bit deeper, and verify the bulbs before more damage is done.

2 cents

Are you willing to sell them?
If so, how much?
