Hi do the XK headlamps have a plastic film from them from the factory? Mine have a plastic film on them I'm wondering if somebody put those on to get rid of the haze from the plastic back in the day thanks

 

Definitely added - the headlamps do not come from the factory with a plastic film (although the unit cover is made of plastic); other than adding a plastic film, the best protection against the yellowing and clouding of the surface is simply wax, preferably carnauba with its UV inhibitors. Waxed regularly, the lenses stay crystal clear.

 

When I clear braed my XK, I had my headlamps and fog lamps covered as well. Considering the price of a new unit, I'd just as soon keep mine chip and crack free...
