I use CC every time I drive whether it is on a 30 mph road or a 65 mph thruway. I did have Toyota rental that has the Adaptive CC and had to turn it off . Every time I got close to a car and went to pass it would slow down and I'd have to override it. With normal CC I would just pull out into the passing lane and continue . Just my 2 cents here. By the way the Jag stays closer to the setting then my Lexus does.

Since I've never had adaptive, cant say that I would miss it. I do use CC quite often on the occasional drives from my office in Lexington to our offices in Cincinnati & Louisville, each a little over hour drive.
When I first started my search I had thoughts on the R. The 510 HP would be helluva lot of fun but I figured the jump from 305 in my CLK to 385 should be plenty enough for my needs.

Schmitty, That is a great find and price is spot on. I agree the seller is probably hopeful he will connect with a new owner who can appreciate the care given.
The only real advise I can offer is be prepaired to experience the "sticky" feel of the the interior controls. Jaguar used a coating on control buttons that year which, not uncommonly, became gummy/sticky after heat exposure. That was the case with mine but it was solved by using "GooGone" and elbow grease. There are some posts here that describe various methods of removal but I found that that and the use of a credit card to scrape it off worked great.
Welcome aboard and go get your XK on!

New XK Owner...very soon!
Well, sold my CLK 500 today with anticipation of closing the deal on that beautiful caviar 2012 XK convertible I had sent previous link on next Friday! Flying out to NM with my 26 y.o. son and taking a couple day road trip back to Ky over the weekend, stopping to see a few sights along the way. Can't wait to enjoy a couple days cruising home, learning about my new cat AND some quality time with my son.
The CLK was a great car that I drove for almost 7 years and a great find just like this XK. Both purchased a little over 5 years from first sale date and mid 20k miles. I anticipate getting even more enjoyment out of this purchase!
I've attached a pic of my former and a couple of the seller's pics of my upcoming purchase.

Very nice ride and welcome to the forum. An excellent after market accessory is the remote top and window controller invented, manufactured and sold by thejagwrangler.com. This is a high quality very worthwhile addition to your XK vert. Steve K the inventor is a member of this forum he is a super guy and has developed a great product. Check it out.
