reset 3rd brake light
Before you replace the brake light (which should only cost between around $150 USD....make sure it is not a tripped output. They use FET (Field Effect Transistor) solid state relay to drive this, and if it detects excessive current draw it shuts down. To reset it, the easiest way is to disconnect positive battery terminal for a few seconds and then reconnect.
do the disconnect first; if that does not work then use meter to see if 12VDC getting there to light. If it is, you need new unit (easy to find at the dealers who sell Jag Parts on-line, and it only requires 2 screws to change out).

Is this the case for XKRS or are you referring XKR?

XKRS has a removable section of the harness ( plugs at both ends) about 10 inches long with this transistor shrink wrapped up nicely. This section is not sold separately but the whole harness would have been warranted by Jag... But a few weeks away.... the transistors are available at your electronics store.. solder back in and voila!!
Not sure what took it out but my light works!!!
