Help - Bonnet Open Error on Dash - Resolved
I am getting a Bonnet Open error on the communication center display. I have open and closed the bonnet several times and feel pretty confident that it is indeed actually closed. The warning appeared after I washed the car.
How do I reset or fix it?

Close the bonnet, then get inside the car. Now slightly pull back on the bonnet opening lever. Don't pull enough to open the bonnet again. You may have to do this a couple of times. This puts the open hood message off on mine when it comes on occasionally. Just watch to see if the warning goes off while your doing it.

Generally, on almost any modern auto you can reset any false codes or warnings by any of five different methods. But, if the code reappears and/or does not reset then it is a true fault which must be addressed.
1. Most auto supply stores (i.e. AutoZone) have OBD readers which can erase false codes. Often there is no charge for this service.
2. Disconnect your car's battery's leads and let the car sit for as long as 24 hours. The memory capacitors in the car's computer will discharge, resetting the false code to "normal". BUT if the code reappears you have a genuine problem.
3. Fix #2 process can be shortened by disconnecting battery leads/cables; and holding the cables (detached from the battery, of course) together for a few minutes.
4. Often, but not always, a false code will reset by itself after a certain number of restarts.
5. Take you car to your friendly Jaguar dealer.

Well...
Every time I open the bonnet, the error comes back in the dash. We tested pushing down on the hood on the driver's side when pushed, the error goes away. I am ordering the hood sensor for that side. $138 and dealer does not stock. Indy wasn't sure how long it'll take, but I don't think it will take long.
While the car is there, I am removing the Hella Duo Tone horns. Wasn't as thrilled with them as I thought I'd be. I am replacing them with a trumpet horn kit I used on my S2000. This is a cool kit that has the compressor and horns built into one unit. No hoses.
