I had the exact same problem, I ended up calling them and giving them the VIN and the dealer name and they activated the trial. For some reason the VIN and radio ID were not registered their system.

I've had my Mercedes for 5 or 6 years now and the Sat radio still works after the "trial"... anyone had this experience with a Jag?

When I bought my used XKR, the subscription worked for about a year... until a week ago. Now I have no Sirius.

Subscriptions to Sirius/XM last only 1 year unless you opted for a 2 year program or lifetime.

Haha, I forgot to add that apparently the previous owner paid for the Sirius subscription. Unless I got a free 1 year trial. But I doubt it since it was a used car no-name dealer and the salesman had no idea whether it had a subscription or not.

I don't drive the XKR enough to justify spending $15/month on radio.

I just did a deal with Sirius/XM after my 3 months trial on my new 2014 Porsche Cayman 981 expired....they cut me a deal for 12 months for $61.54 total.

They will negotiate.

Yeah, they are always willing to deal. I activated the radio in my XK when I bought it and they gave me deal - something like $100/year. When it came time to renew, they quoted me $220 something. I told them to cancel it and they offered another year at the previous price.

If you plan to keep the car, and want Sirius, you can get a lifetime subscription for $699+ royalty fees & tax. They do not advertise this, but if you get a US based agent and ask for a supervisor, they will give it. The subscription is attached to the car, and is only transferable if the car is a total loss.

I have a lifetime subscription to Sirius/XM that I paid $329.00 and is transferable up to 3 cars at a charge of $75.00 per transfer. It was a great deal. I have had it now for 4 years and made one transfer.

Perhaps they have changed the rules from 2009.

I am having the same issue with my XFR. Phone number only, no radio id. I called Sirius and tried the VIN but it wouldn't pull up. Not sure what to do next.

I just bought a 2010 XF and the Sirius screen also has the Sirius logo and phone number but the Radio ID field is blank. Anyone have any luck?

Default Sirus ID

Hi All,
It just so happens, I joined Sirius today with my '08 XK-R. I gave them my cars Sirius ID and was easily connected. I was prepared to provide my VIN, but, it wasn't necessary. However, the age of the radio prevented me from getting their premium channels. However, just how many stations can one find an interest in when there are hundreds?
Good Luck....and Happy Motoring

I just bought a 2010 XKR Convertible from a Jaguar dealer and requested that they activate the Sirius service before I picked it up. I guess they had quite a time as the radio id did not display and Sirius/XM was unable to activate by VIN.

Turns out that the dealer had to physically remove the satellite radio module from the vehicle and read the radio id off the sticker on the module.

If all else fails, apparently there is a sticker with the id on the module.

I was also told that the radio had to be removed from the car to get to id on the back on the '10. I can live without XM.

Default No Id, no problem . . .

Had this issue, spent hours with it. Told the dealer, they fixed it, didn't specify how, but said sometimes the "module" is removed, and they r expensive,. Best corrective action is to take it to the dealer and get their response. Mine was an easy fix. Got PURRRL back from the dealer, ID showed up and made the call to SiriusXM.
