Help: Can't locate Sirius/XM Radio ID
#21
Took mine to the dealer to check and see the cost of the removal of the radio. 250 bucks and he said it may not have the module. I asked him since it comes up on the radio without the ID does it mean no module. He couldnt answer. I hat to spen the 250 only to find out I dont have a module. Can I do this some how? Is the module part of the radio or a plug in?

I also took my XF to the dealer and they were able to locate the module under one of the front seats and give me the Sirius ID with no charge. After that I had no problem activating it. I also used the link below for 2 free months on a pre-owned vehicle.

I just found out that the the satellite radio module is in the trunk located just above the navigation dvd player. I easily removed it loosening 3 8mm bolts without disconnecting it, turn it over and writing down ID number which is printed on the bottom of it, called sirius and had it started up. Took less than 15 min to do it. Costs $0.00. ???? $250 from jag dealer. I think this set up is correct in all 2010 or later xks.

Bobdr1,
Thank you for saving me hundreds of hours reading ignorant posts which say contact the tech support in Asia. And they genuinely believe they are contributing something with those suggestions, or even sillier take to dealer with Vaseline.
Thanks for making my day. Hope to reciprocate.

Some one just helped me out with locating my Sirius module on my 2010 FX. You have to remove the four bolts on the driver seat and slide it back. The module is under the carpet there under the driver side seat. You have two modules there phone and Sirius. I just took a picture of the module and called Sirius and ten minutes later it was activated.

Huge Help
This just saved me a lot of time and trouble. I am the least mechanically inclined person on earth, and even I was able to do this myself. Exactly as described, easily found the module, loosened it, and got the number underneath. Sirius was no help. Dealer was useless, though I’m wondering if they feigned ignorance. Thanks for your help, years after your post!!
