It should not get hotter then 210* regardless if you are sitting and ideling or on the road a 50-60 mph. I have found my 2012 to run at 199-205* and my fan is usually always on because I run in auto AC mode which has the fan running. I do not know what the fan temp switch is in manual (non-AC) mode but suspect it to be around the 220* range . Maybe the guys with the Texas cars can chime in here because of their hot summer conditions.

Any time a dealer steps up and does a repair because they decided it was the right thing is great to me. It would be nice if all did this but it usually isn't the case unless they get something out of it. They have a business and if they get reimbursed by Jag NA then they and you made out OK.

Water pump in my 2002 XKR was replaced yesterday under the same symptoms as Booskisjag's. First we replaced the thermostat just because we would replace anyway if it turned out to be water pump. Thermostat replacement did not solve problem but when the water pump was replaced, everything returned to normal. I had no leaks, no steam, reservoir was full before and after warning lights went on and auxilary fans kicked on.
