Help! JCNA judge claims Selena wheels on my 2009 XKR not correct
#22
FWA if you wish to solve this quickly please call me. I will post phone in a private e mail. Second if you wish to solve an issue this is not the right forum to do so. There is a protest procedure that may be used. I would be interested in your factory literature as the Judges guide (not NT) appendix for wheels and tires comes direct from Jaguar each year. So please read your mail and let's solve this one way or another.
TT when you participate in a sanctioned concours you agree to follow the rules. This can and will be solved within the organization which in its 60th year had has some experience. Providing images and literature is fine but to ask for comments and advise on the situation is misplaced here. Comments re: Judges (read volunteers at $0) take time for training in a system that is not one show centered. The results of all of the concours from Mexico to Canada all go toward EOY awards. It is not my system it is the Clubs system and although not perfect it does work well. So my comment was toward the advise and comment part which is not here! I encourage all to get out and participate at some level--it is to be fun and toward improvement of the Marque--which it does.
starting to understand OP’s frustration...

Not sure what this means?
Why is this not the right forum? Seems to me the perfect place for the OP to ask for additional literature to prove his case... Not that he should have to a simple google search I'm sure would pull up plenty enough images of the '09 model with the wheels in question on them. Not saying that google images should be a official reference point, but at what point does common sense play a factor? 1000 images of different cars with the wheels in question should say it all... Whats the old saying "a picture is worth a 1000 words"

This is an interesting and informative thread, regardless of whether or not it is the appropriate way to address the OP's issues.
Sure, there are rules but everyone doesn't' always come to a full stop at a Stop sign.
I don't see any harm done by anyone in this thread. Just interesting info.

Don't you go questioning the authority's on us.
In industry we always try to prevent mistakes from happening again. I went back and reread the OP's Op and am surprised that 9 years after production that the JCNA's concourse rules still has the wrong information in it. I doubt our friend from Florida is the first to place his car in a show and I wonder how this was handled in the past?
No dog in this show, just curious.

Not sure if this reply is proper forum etiquette but with so many respondents I thought it’s just easier to thank everyone at once. I want to say I appreciate everyone’s comments, technical info, videos and photos. I know the vehicle is correct and the overwhelming evidence provided from you all just bolsters my position. At this point I am working now working with the JCNA and JaguarUSA to have this issue resolved and my points restored. I am confident the JCNA will make the right decision.
If I sounded frustrated in my initial thread, no doubt I was. We are all enthusiastic, passionate jaguar owners who painstakingly take the time to learn the ins and outs of our particular Jaguars. We spend a great deal of time and effort to prepare our cars properly whether it’s for a Saturday night car corral or a JCNA sanctioned Concurs de Elegance. I take a lot of pride in making sure my vehicle is correct, looks great and I get a lot of satisfaction in showing the vehicle to anyone that wants to look and I am happy to answer any questions about it. I pride myself on knowing the “nuts and bolts” (no pun intended) of this vehicle.
For those of you who own 2009 XKR Portfolios, take good care of them as they are indeed a rare breed of cat for the modern era.
I will let everyone know when I receive the official results from the JCNA.

To all;
I just received an email stating that the Selena wheels on my 2009 XKR Portfolio are in fact correct. In fact the 2009 XKR Portfolio is the only 2009 XKR to be outfitted with the Selena wheels. The deducted points will be reinstated.
Thanks again to all who contributed advice, photos, videos and tech info to substantiate my case.
