Help me decide..New (to me) XK supercharged or not
So I'm in the market for a used car wanting to spend under 25K. I found a used 2010 XK Supercharged with 8,000 miles for sale. Yes 8k original miles. I can pick it up for 18K. Im nervous because its a Jag and reliability issues. Obviously the car is in fantastic condition but still nervous. Its a one owner car. Is this something I should stay away from? Has every option but radar cruise control. Am I getting into a money pit or should I go for it? If I don't get this I'll get a low mile genesis R.
Please give me your opinions on what I should do.

I've moved your question from XF/XFR ( X250 ) to XK/XKR (X150) forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.
Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Read recent posts so that you get a sense of the kinds of problems that owners have. If you are not prepared to deal with most of the issues yourself, you may end up considering the car to be a money pit.
If you consider a Hyundai to be a suitable alternative, then you probably should buy that car instead as Korean and Japanese vehicles tend to be more like basic kitchen appliances with regards to their typical high reliability. However one website indicates 2015-2016 Genesis reliability is not good, so do your homework there:

Good luck with your choice.

The X150 XKs and XKRs are not know for their unreliability. If the car is in good shape and you don't abuse it, the chances are that you will have a reliable car.
As suggested previously, search out the common problems (blocked A/C drain on 4.2 cars, low battery problems, broken earths, etc. The list is not long) and see if you want to take the risk. It was an expensive car new and if major things go wrong, repairs can be costly. Basic running costs on the other hand are very sane for such a high-performance car.
2010 model - that would be a 5.0 litre version?

I had a 2010 XKR which I bought at 3 years and 11,000 miles. I sold it last summer when I replaced it with an F-Type. The only non-maintenance item I had to replace was the water pump, which I believe is a known weak spot on the 5 litre engine - it hadn't failed but my tame mechanic spotted it was weeping around the seals so recommended changing before it became a major issue. In my experience it's a really reliable car and the only things you have to pay for is gas and tyres! It's a fabulous car. But I prefer my F-Type, albeit at considerably more cost.

Boots11234, if that is indeed your real name, where are you in MN? I'm in Mpls, southern suburbs. Went you get closer to a decision, I can give you a hand if you're local to me.
Others will weigh in but no, the 2010 isn't a money pit, at all.
Curious as to your if/then choices though. The XK is a Grand Tourismo and your other choice is a sedan. These are two entirely different animals. Are you planning to store both for the winter?

That makes a whole lot more sense for the price. But I'm even more surprised on the mileage. I could see someone babying an XK (although I wouldn't) and having that low a mileage. I have a harder time seeing someone doing the same thing with XF. Still sounds a little odd.
Now, 5l XKR's have been coming down in price, and I have started seeing a few 2010 examples getting into this price range, but with at least 10x the number of miles, and I'd still be a bit leery of them. Give it another year though, and as more of these start crossing 100k miles I think this will be a more examples below $20K. Just as we are with the 4.2l XKR's. There is a 2010 coupe on Autotrader from Atlanta from a private seller that has been up there for a long time at about $23K, I'm guessing someone could offer $20K and pick it up, maybe even less. If I was in the area, I'd at least check it out.

Remember what happened last time we helped someone leaning towards a rice burner get into a Jaguar...
Disappointment all the way around, and he puts it up for sale 1 week later.
You have to let water find its level and allow Jaguar to be the privilege of those who deserve it.
