This may be off the wall; but why don't you check out British Autowood? they specialize in gear shift knobs and wood dashboards and are not limited to wood. Telephone 407-744-5332. Website: www.britishautowood.com

Saul does excellent wood work, but I'm pretty sure that he doesn't have the equipment to fabricate either the black vinyl sticker or stainless steel J-gate overlay that I suggested in my previous post.
Hi all
The chrome around my shifter started peeling and rapidly got worse until I had to do something.
The replacement parts are stupidly expensive as it is the whole shifter assembly.
My solution was to sand the plastic chrome and paint what was left with satin black to make it invisible under the aluminium overlay I purchased on E-Bay.
Fitting was easy once the gear knob and collar were removed, I got lucky and they came off together just by turning anti-clockwise, it was tight but only needed hands not tools.
This addition has transformed the appearance of the shifter area and totally hidden the peeling chrome.
On the photos the overlay looks slightly brushed in effect, however it is not as noticeable in real life, perhaps the effect of the flash?

The seller on E-Bay was solar_signa in Canada who makes them.
You may have to contact him to get one listed and if i remember correctly it was around Ł65 delivered?
EDIT: I looked for awhile, and couldn't fund a replacement bezel. Couldn't find a way to fix the bezel. All of the bezels were only sold with the shifter assembly.
I finally bought a new assembly (about $450) and sold off the old one on Ebay ($100).
Is there anyone making this in black or a 3D printed black overlay ? I'd be interested in seeing if anyone has been able to mock and print one up on a 3D printer ... Mine has got another little peel and would love to be able to just use a standard thin black printed overlay to lay right over it.
People have been looking for this for awhile. Even a black plastic adhesive overlay would likely do a great job, unless the chrome is damaged. The silver one is the only one I've seen that seems to address the problem.

I haven't really gotten into any3D printing, but maybe someone else on the forum would like to try to come up with something ... I'd be up seeing what it comes out like

I purchased this aluminum overlay last year and it’s very nice, high quality. It looks better than the original black and ties in well with the chrome.
