What is that hose next to my oil filter? Seems to be leaking, I really only notice the leak after I have used the defrost feature. The defrost does work but from what I can tell that is when the hose wants to leak oil.

That is not your oil filter. Do enjoy a glance at the workshop manual. It really is a good read.
Btw, its a coolant hose.

As guy says it is a coolant hose that has a small leak. I think it is acceptable to "double clamp" the connection, and clean up the spillage.
Time will tell if it works. Add a more conventional stainless clamp, that closes with a ratchet or screwdriver, between the old clamp and the end of the hose.

That painted blue cylindrical thing sure LOOKS like an oil filter. It probably has oil in it also. But yeah, that's coolant dripping, not oil.
I think Guy missed the blue part.

That is an oil cooler and it looks like oil leaking to me, not coolant. Prolly @ the filter.

On second look, yes the spotting is dark like oil. Oil drips when changing the filter above.

Ya fooled me then, my oil cooler is in a different spot. Also the filter, but I knew that already.

My oil cooler leaked also, but it was coolant and not oil.

It seems like mine is leaking oil. This is my first car so I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I'm also getting an oil change with the oil cooler housing replacement.

When servicing anything regarding fluids it’s always prudent to throughly clean the area, not just to be tidy, makes watching for and identifying leaks easier.

I can still say that the oil stains are coming from the spillage in changing the oil filter, or the occasional sweat coming from the oil filter seal.
