I'm likely selling my 2013 XK-R because I've been hungry for a F-Type SVR for 2 years and the craving is getting too much. This car has been fantastic and I've babied the heck out of it for 6 years now. The compliments, the looks, it's all amazing. But life is short and time to move onward.
I'm struggling to find some comparable trims to assist me in pricing it. The specs are something like this.
Sticker when new - approx $111K
Dynamic, Black, and Speed packages.
Interior leather is red and black. Seats are the race type so they do not have ventilation. They are heated though.
Mileage - approx 32K
Garage kept, never driven in winter or even rain.
Tires have less than 5,000 miles on them. Brakes have even less than that on them.
Ceramic coating 3 or 4 years ago.
Full synthetic oil changed yearly or earlier.
I'm the third owner and bought it in Dallas, TX. I think it had 24K miles when I bought it.
The only issue I've ever had was an injector that stuck. I had all 4 on that side replaced since it was getting worked on.
My trouble has been finding a comparable model with the dynamic / speed trim and the racing style seats. It's a trim option I just can't seem to find. Any ideas on where to price this - or suggestions on where to sell the car is appreciated. I'm taking it to the Illinois Street Machine Nationals tomorrow and might have someone wanting to talk $$$. I don't want to get screwed or embarrass myself by asking too much.
Since you're meeting someone tomorrow, I think I'd just ask too much and let them negotiate down if they want. If they don't like the price, get their number and tell them "If I drop the price I'll let you know." Whatever you do, don't say "I don't really know what it's worth so how about X" cause that's an invite to get a lowball in return.
@Popbumper Have a look at completed sales on bring a trailer if you can. What someone's willing to pay's really what it's worth plus how quickly you want it sold.
@Popbumper You didn't say where in Illinois you're located, as value depends on location. I understand your desire for privacy, and I'm paranoid, too.
There are lots of free online valuation tools that take many factors into account including, but not limited to, your location, mileage, condition, and options. Google "what's my car worth" for links to those websites. You're looking to get high retail and buyers want to pay low wholesale. So what's it really worth in today's market near you?
If you want to immediately get a real, honest value of what it's worth, drive your XKR to CarMax and they will appraise it on the spot and give you a written offer. Google "CarMax near me". That's a wholesale value because they will put it in their inventory for retail sale at a profit. But that'll give you a starting point for setting a price.

I've driven my car to various dealerships while shopping for other cars and have let them make offers. They Always run the car as a standard XK. I point out that it's an R with specific options. They return with 3K more and explain they have no way to get info on options, Jaguars aren't something they have lots of data on, blah blah blah. I would be happy to buy an F Type SVR for a 6 banger F Type price. Maybe I will. With that info, you can see what I'm trying to do and how most dealerships won't help with this. I do appreciate everything yall are offering.
If you want top dollar for it, list it on bring a trailer. Its in great cond with low miles and it will do well. But you have to be willing to wait a few months to get it listed because of the backlog of auctions...
look at all the various on line sites:
NADA, Car Fax, POWERS, KBB…
Then look at all the ones for sale.
They’ll get you in the ball park. They won’t properly assess the emotional value for a premium condition car. But, you need to be honest with yourself…as to whether it really is a top 5% car. Also remember that regardless of miles some items wear because of time…all the rubber stuff…including tires which on an R should be replaced after 5 years….battery,
. I ptoint out that it's an R with specific options. They return with 3K more and explain they have no way to get info on options, Jaguars aren't something they have lots of data on, blah blah blah.
and I'm certain that if they purchased it from you @ the 3K more figure they would immediately put in on their lot for a higher than reasonable price. With all the data in the world to justify the price.

Trade in will most likely have you short changed. Most dealers don't want our cars as they are a slow sell regardless of condition, miles, or rarity. Yes, Bring A Trailer will be your best bet if you are patient as listing takes time. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
One kind-of-bummer factor: given that the car is more than ten years old, the specifics that make your car special move the needle less than you think. FWIW, for these cars I think what matters is:
- Year
- Mileage (Mileage is HUGE. Too important, my opinion, but the market is what it is)
- XK/XKR
- Coupe/Convertible
- Color
And anything below that doesn't really impact price much at all - even more so for XK's, as the pool of buyers who appreciate what you have is very small indeed.
People have talked a lot about price. I'd also talk about time: how long (months) do you want to wait for that buyer to come along who wants exactly what you have? To me, you've got:
A 2013 XKR coupe, black, with relatively low miles and in very good condition. I think you're hovering right above the $30K line. I'd list for $31,500 and see what bites you get.
