Why I use my dealer (and have a warranty):
Finally had my 60,000 mile service visit. Yes, the oil change and brake fluid flush rates are absurd.
Do I care? I do not. Because...
I mentioned a couple of things to "look at," and here's what came back. Most of this I didn't even know was an issue.
My favorite part: I asked my service advisor about doing a radiator fluid flush when I dropped the car off:
HER: Hmmm.... have we we replaced your water pump?
ME: Not yet.
HER: Ha! Yeah, we do a lot of those. Normally I don't recommend the flush beforehand, as we'll replace it all when we replace the water pump anyway.
ME: Cool.
Today, I pick the car up. She looks at me, totally deadpan: "good thing we caught that leak in your water pump while we had it in here..."
0W-20 is recommended for the 5.0 liter engines now. Theres a thread on it here somewhere.
Never used it only 5w20 and that is what my indy use to . He also has a 5l xfr and he dont use 0w20 neither never had any trouble and any trouble i have read of 5l engines All have used 0w20 oil inc current case on the xkr section

Jaguar notes: STJLR.51.5122 is also backward compatible for all older AJ133 engines up to and including Model Year 2014.
(Personal observation: Jaguar DOES NOT state STJLR.51.5122 "Replaces or Superceeds" STJLR.03.5004, and therefore STJLR.03.5004 is still valid for AJ133 up to and including Model Year 2014.)

As discussed back in 2018, it is not a flaw related to oil viscosity, but an engineering design that was corrected in late 2012.
For the information I just provided, I simply reviewed several Service Bulletins I had been given up to Feb 2018 where oil recommendations from Jaguar were discussed.
As I was given copies from a fellow forum member, it may not be complete or current.
Any newer Jaguar SB involving our engine oil would be appreciated if they exist.
