Default Hidden diagnostics menu

Searched around on the forum and couldn't find any posts on this...
has anyone tried it? Assuming it's legit, is it helpful?

How to access the XK and XF hidden navigation diagnostic menu

If your XF or XK is equipped with a navigation screen, you can access a hidden diagnostic menu with the following instructions:
  1. Start the car (you can do this with the key on but you don't want your battery to die on you)
  2. On the "Menu" screen, press the top center of the screen (there is no icon there) for more than three seconds.
  3. Enter the PIN code:
    1. 660: Diagnosis Menu screen
    2. 661: System Check screen (DTC code verification screen)
    3. 662: GPS Information screen
  4. Touch "OK"
This will give you access to a hidden menu and some more features to play with.

First, the menu screen refers to the NAVIGATION screen, which has the word "menu" on the left, I believe.

I didn't start the car, but just left the CTEK plugged in.

Then hold your finger at the top center of the NV screen for at least 3-5 seconds, and a new screen will appear where you can type in the numbers you noted.

Can't say the info provided was very enlightening. I have not tried other numbers.

My vehicle is a 2010 XK. I saw this info on the jagforum.co.uk site.

Best,

Tested this today, interesting. I'm curious if there's other numbers that work. I'm going to try and trigger the CEL and see if it lets me read codes.

In order to access the diagnostic recorder it appears the car must be driven then after that it asks for a USB.

As i was unsure of the usb outlet location i wasn't able to perform that function.

My USB is in the center console, but it's a 2010.

USB for what? That's weird. What would be connected to this USB, and for what reason? Will the car write info to a blank drive or something??? Does it need some sort of data from a drive placed IN the USB slot?
WAY more info is needed on this particular item.

There is a USB on the top of the TSD for software updates/loading.
