High revs on start-up, XKR 2010, 5.0SC
On starting (cold engine as well as hot) the engine momentarily revs up to over 2000rpm (allowing for some rev counter lag...maybe about 2300rpm?) for about 2 seconds. This doesn't sound like much but on a cold morning it breaks my heart to rev an engine like that on start up. It goes against anything I was ever taught about internal friction and oil dispersal in a cold internal combustion engine. Understandably the agents say its perfectly normal....nevertheless I would appreciate any advice on how to regulate/reduce this unnecessary start-up rpm...?
