Hood/Softtop pivot cover panel/trim

Good evening, gentlemen.
The car is an '07 XK (X150) convertible. There are two sliding trim panels/covers, one each side, which are retracted when the hood (UK usage)/ softtop (US usage?) is up because the hood mechanism pivots through the gaps, and slide back to fill in the rectangular holes left when the hood is down. One of mine is permanently retracted; the other is too (now), after I tried sliding it forward to try to get some idea of how it works...![Embarrassment](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/redface.gif)

Doh!
Is it much of a job to get at and fix this problem, does any body know?

Jaguar hopefully still makes the repair kit for this, since it is a common problem and would otherwise require replacing the entire interior quarter panel at prohibitive cost.
The repair is described in a Technical Service Bulletin, #JTB00199. I do not seem to have a copy of it, but maybe someone else does and can post it. Worst case you can get a Jaguar Topix subscription for a day and download it.
There is a repair kit for each side, part numbers C2P21070xxx and C2P21071xxx, where 'xxx' is the trim color code of your interior, which is printed on the placard on the driver's door jamb.

I had the issue as well on the passenger side.
Called in at my local dealer and one of the service techs removed it filed the sides to make it smoother and now it slides out of the way smoothly and returns.
He said sometimes the edges get a bit roughened up and the increased friction makes them stick.
