I was a Corvette guy for years, finally ending up with a Z06 with the Z07 package. All my research told me that unless your name ends in something like "-umacher" or "-ittipaldi," this car will kill you if you test it without the minders on. Even with the electronic nannies, I could feel it wanting to break loose without even goosing it all that much. It's a street-legal race car, and while it had pretty fine road manners, it had terrible cabin noise/droning when cruising. After moving to Hill Country (and marrying a woman I actually wanted to hear talk), I decided I wanted something closer to a GT car. I thought that was going to be an F-Type, but even they are more sports car than GT in my opinion, even coming from the Z06 (yeah, I know, that debate will never be settled). Decided to look into an XK, but by the time I found one I liked, I already loved the F-Type too much to get rid of it.
The Beast. The Road Carver. Yikes, I need to get a decent picture--the claret paint is a stunner. For giggles--the rest of the fleet.
Not pictured: my wife's 2021 Audi e-tron, which she absolutely loves. We considered the I-Pace, but none were available in our area when she was in the market.
