How tight for the oil filter housing??

So, I changed my oil and I had a hell of a time getting the oil filter housing cap off.and by that I mean I broke a strap wrench, had another strap wrench fail to move it, oil filter wrench did nothing and finally has d to go and buy a crazy oil filter wrench with teeth in it that finally got the damned thing to move (sadly left scratches but whatever). It honestly felt like it was welded on.
When. I reattached it, I did my standard hand tight plus some.i know it is marked 25nm, but I have no clue how to measure that as there is no ratchet connection point and if that is what it was attached at before, that seems insanely tight to the point of absurdity.
Any thoughts or comments?
Thanks!
Edit: car is a 2011 xk, also fixed the "75" typo

If a later model with the AJ133 5.0 V8 then the oil filter canister torque is 25 Nm not 75!
It's actually embossed on the top of the canister.
If you have the older 4.2 it could be the same but I dunno.
On my 2010 XFR I originally had the same problem as you, the canister was on so tight I couldn't budge it no matter what I tried. I eventually got it off by using a strap wrench oil filter removal tool with rubber grips. The grips enabled it to properly grip the canister without slipping like every other tool I tried. And like you the canister was covered in some fairly deep scratches, I hate to think what torque some grease monkey had put on it!
When I got my F-Type (exact same oil filter and canister) I got sick of using the strap wrench, even though it worked it was a hassle to use and I was always afraid of cracking one of the little brittle plastic expansion tank tubes that it unavoidably rubbed up against.
So I bought a canister removal cap, from memory 88 mm diameter with 14 flutes.
You just plonk it on top of the canister, stick a 1/2" socket wrench on it and it's a piece of cake!
I don't bother using a torque wrench on it although I could, I have always found that it comes to an abrupt stop when tightening and it would take a helluva lot of force to tighten it any further so I just leave it there and it has never leaked.
