Thank you again...i had read about this part compatibility in theory but didn't see anyone actually confirm it.
its the same, even the alignment specs

Gentlemen, it's called "planned obsolescence". It's used everywhere for almost everything ever manufactured. The rationale is to push you forward to the newer offerings. After all, if the cost to replace vs repair starts to level off, naturally you'll just replace. Much simpler in the long run. If there isn't as many older models available, you'll naturally start looking at a newer one. The whole model-specific part number thing is probably meant to hide the fact that most/all of the modern Jaguar suspension is in fact the same and shared with a few Ford vehicles. Remember, they were trying to maintain their Jaguar-ness.

The enthusiasts of this brand are some of the most resourceful folks I've ever come across, so doesn't work on us, or it's much slower to take effect. Plus, for me anyway, it's kinda fun

If you don't find an OEM source, consider (Federal Mogul's) Beck Arnley website for correct stock numbers. The stock numbers have been changed and Amazon stocks the same B-A wishbones with two different stock numbers, old and new, at two different prices. The new Beck item #s might be found on eBay for less than $200 each. eBay sellers have the items dropped shipped from Beck Arnley's distribution center in Smyrna, TN. That's what I did this spring. I should have checked this thread for the possibility of OEM parts under different nomenclature, i.e, Ford. (XKs and F-Types are listed using the same upper front wishbones)

...so I leave the forums, and out of curiosity, google MCSOE38 (see jahummer's original post) and up pops, amongst others, $128.68 @ Walmart com with free 2 day shipping to my home address (+ tax). "Jaguar" is visible on the wishbone arm illustration. And I settled for Beck Arnley last spring. #$@&%*!

I think a sticky thread for parts/numbers and cheap sources would be a good idea - I just sourced out a Fram engine air filter for $26

JAHummer,
Thanks again for your excellent and very helpful post! My upper control arms arrived yesterday. I ordered the Motorcraft parts you listed above. Sure enough, they are stamped "Jaguar" and the tag says "Made in the UK" $137 for one and $135 for the other, including shipping. I've attached a picture in case anyone else is curious.

On another note, you guys don't happen to have a cheaper rear tie rod equivalent, do you?

There are tons of them. Do a quick google for rear toe bars for Jaguar XK. Typically less than $100 for a pair.

Yeah you need help. Fram is fairly low quality. Jaguar uses Wix or Mahle, which can be had for $17 and $20.
Rockauto also had some very high quality oil filters for $7. I bough every last one of them and never told a soul. Although the quality of the oil filter is not that important when it comes to cartridge style filters. Because the high quality housing replaces low quality canister and flow back valve.

Are all the Lincoln LS rear suspension parts the same as the XK?

I'd like to buy a full set if possible like this:

Amazon Amazon

Jahummer you happen to know if rear lower arms are also the same on Lincoln's? Looks as my bushings are shot trying to find a replacement

Default Is 9478-A the same part as 9478-1?

Hey winstonsalemncxk,

I've just received those same upper control arms you bought from Motorcraft. Did they work on your Jag. I have an '07 Jaguar XK and I'm not sure it will fit. The part number on the arm 9478-A is just slightly different from the old part number which is 9478-1. Not sure if that's gonna make any real difference. I wonder what
the -1 or -A means. This wishbone comes stamped with Jaguar on it although it is Ford or Motorcraft. Everything I look at online says these fit the Thunderbird or the Lincoln but not seeing where it fits the Jaguar XK, except for your post. Did it work out?

I did find out that the rear tie rod links from Ford are NOT the same for the 2006 Lincoln and the 2007 Jaguar XK...there's a good amount of difference. I went with the Beck Arnley replacement and looks like it's gonna fit nicely.

Yes they should fit, likely a production version number. Also check for Lemforder/ZF versions as they were the OEM provider for much of the suspension parts.

Apart from the price, does anyone know what the difference is between the MEVOTECH and the MotorCraft upper control arms?
Prices from Rockauto.com seems reasonable.

Probably zero help at all, but I'd assume the MotorCraft ones are the original, but maybe relabeled. Ford owned Jag at the time and all...

MotorCraft are OEM genuine Jaguar/Lemforder. Rather than manufacturer their own, Ford "borrowed" Jaguar parts for some of their cars. As for the difference, can't say but when I went through this 5 or more years ago, the genuine ones weren't much different in price so it made no sense to save a couple and so went with OEM.
