Hello all
on an unfortunate note Yesterday afternoon we dropped off my friends ferrari scuderia (someone keyed the entire right side of the car) anyhow while dropping it off at Ferrari San Antonio this was up on the lift...
Holy cow I’d never seen one of these in the flesh but may I say what an incredible site!!!
The pictures just don’t do this one justice.
considering it’s age (1992) it was such a striking vehicle to see in person... and modern looking even when I put up against some of the Ferraris in the bays.
i’ve dreamt about this vehicle ever since I was a little boy back during its production years!
this was my bedroom poster car, most of my friends were sporting Lamborghinis/Ferraris posters in their bedroom back in those days but not me I was ahead of my time lol mine was the Jaguar XJ 220!
wow memories huh haha
anyways just thought I’d share some great pictures of an amazing vehicle that once was
Got it now:Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust XJ220 Display
The Trust are fortunate to have two XJ220s in our Collection – the original concept car built by Jim Randle’s Saturday Club and car number 008 which was on display at Bloxham when Princess Diana visited the site. The Concept car had a fairly hard life being displayed all over the place and over the years collected a number of knocks, dings and scratches and the seats and carpets were well worn from hoards of people climbing in and out. We have now had the car repainted and our volunteers have re-carpeted it and tidied up all the leather work back to show condition. We have had the hydraulic struts tidied up and modified so that we can show the car with the doors opened – not everyone realised they were scissor doors!
The XJ220 Concept is now back on display in the Collection Centre at Gaydon with our Production car beside it so that visitors can see the differences.
Jaguar needs another iconic super car. The brand and its rich heritage is fading into the abyss. I was hoping the C-X75 would have made it into production and the F-Type fell short of my expectations as a traditional "Jaguar" flagship sports car. Tata Motors is looking for a partner for Jaguar. I hope they invest in the brand to bring it to its former glory.
XJ220 is just as stunning today as it was when it was current. Jaguar should keep producing them even if they can't be registered. Slap a dealer plate on it and go for spin!
There is a dark blue one local to me who often stores it at the local Aston Martin - Lotus dealer. He drives it car shows now and then with a current MA plate.

the CX-75 should still be reinvented to make production as Jaguars super car. This car have too many fundamental specs to not be a thing of the future when it was created that make it still outstanding to majority of most modern day production cars. All it needs is an update to DRL head lights and it's born as a new dream car.If they still can't put it into production to make it a Jaguar Flag ship super car, they should atleast have it so people can visit a Jaguar dealership and make a request for 1 to be built if they are serious die hard Jaguar fans like us on the Forum
I think the only time I've seen an XJ220 in person was at Cosmopolitan Motors in Seattle, like 20 years ago. They always had cool stuff in there, as did Autosport Seattle which was right across the street.
