I gotta drive more
#22
Still can't drive in the winter here. The road chemicals and cold prevent a proper wash.
So I do the winter projects.
Fakra experiment
Adding the android media player to replace HKS Camp2.
Changed the tranny fluid 2 days ago.
Temp reached 60 today which was unbelievable so I washed the car and put it back under the cover.
Once it warms up again, I'll replace the differential fluid and flush the coolant.
I may replace the upper control arms before it warms up.
So plenty to do though i can't/won't drive.

OK 3rd day in a row. Weather went from mid 40* to todays high of 74*. The snow bank behind the car was 6' high on Sunday and now it's around 2' and disappearing quickly. Maybe same tomorrow but with rain and staying in the mid 40's to high 50's next week. Great drive with the top down . Good fun.
PS: I didn't mean this post to be a little on the dark side but thankfully we are all here to read it. I did my bout in 2000 with surgery and radiation. Cancer free 17 years later. Enjoy the drive

Day #4
Well it was 72* today so we went out again. Rained last night so the roads are pretty clear around here. Almost all of the snow is gone around my house but if we go 5 miles it's all gone. My bride wanted to go to a local winery about a half hour away so off we went. As it turned out we couldn't get in because the road was washed out so we ended up taking a ride in the back roads. Ended up on a 1 lane dirt road for about 4-5 miles and at one point I had to drive in some muddy ruts to the point that I could feel the mud scraping under the car. Funny thing was I thought of Richzak and laughed as we drove through the stuff. Ended up cruising into a few local towns and then headed for my car wash. Had to get the bottom wash along with my usual wash. Headed home and stopped for gas. This guy in a van with long hair and beard commented he loved the car and it looked great. Thanked him and we were on our way home. Another great driving day and we enjoyed it.

Ditto here... turning 56 tomorrow and I still feel young... well youngish. I'm also a firm believer in getting outside and enjoying our toys. Started for me 12 yrs ago with a mid-life crisis and a motorcycle (87' Honda Super Magna). Then it went to a 03' Porsche Boxster, a 82' Ferrari 308GTSi and now (recently) a 2010 Jaguar XK convertible and loving every minute of it...!!

Nice! Do you still have the Super Magna? That was the bike I drooled over in high school. By the time I was able to get myself a bike though, I just didn't like the updated version and ended up getting a VFR which also had the awesome V4 but in a sport-touring platform. I wish I could still ride, but I feel too mortal now with two young kids, so I chose my XKR as the next best thing for my mid-life crisis.
