Picked it up today. Yup, it is soooo good to be bad, again. The dealer, Porsche Lauzon, in Quebec even delivered it with a full tank of gas. I'm very happy with the condition. I installed my old plate from my other XKR which reads "XKR". I'm thinking of changing it to "GD2BBAD".

Had it transported. If it were the summer I would have driven it back and made a mini vacation out of the trip. It was so dirty from the auto carrier I had to wash it immediately. Absolutely, no dings or dents on it. It has a lot swirl marks and some minor scratches. With a good detail it will be looking new again. The inside still has the rich Jaguar leather smell. Drove it to get registered at the DMV. When I came out there were 2 people walking around eyeing it. They wanted to know what brand of car it was and thought it was new. The Jaguar X150 is a very rare car in Canada.

It really is amazing, We drive vehicles where the design is at least 15 and maybe 16 yrs old and people continue to comment on the beauty of the X150 asking how old it is. Two days ago a guy in a current Benz E-Class vert commented on what a beautiful car I was driving. It happens regularly. The delivery of the XJS has been delayed by about 12 hours due to mechanical issues with the car hauler. So I won't get it until this evening.

And in the All-Rounder* category, which would be a balance of exotic, performance, daily-driveability, comfort, luxury amenities, well-engineered, advanced mechanicals: this car would be in the top 3 supercars. (I dont know what the other 2 would be)

A decade later, my engine is still the top desirable engine going into FTypes and Range Rovers- with zero changes! And my car has everything and more than you can get in latest Jaguar sports car- such as air conditioned seats, luxury interior.

*What do you guys call all-rounders in America? In cricket an all-rounder is an exceptional batsman and bowler, a rare and prized ability.

Q & C I don't know anything about cricket so I had to google it... If I read it correctly an All-Rounder is a player that essentially bats and pitches, so we would call that Babe Ruth No modern players do that at a high level, at the professional level.

The definition of an All-Rounder depends on which game you're playing. Is it rated G or X? An All-Rounder can also be a Switch Hitter, AC-DC, Bi, etc., from what I understand about that universe. ..

Taysom Hill is kind of an All-Rounder for the New Orleans Saints.

Bo Jackson and Dion Sanders were all-rounders in that they played two sports,

TT, so there isn't even a word for it here? And I take it that its not something sought after either, for something or someone to be multifaceted, or not limited by one specialty and more of a advantageous compromise? Like a truck that is good off-road and on-road, horse farm or night at the opera, aka Range Rover
It would make sense why the XKR is not more appreciated here than it is.

(Yeah in cricket, if you have a brilliant bowler {pitcher} but lousy batter, one of the ways of winning is to get them to bat, thus the reverence for all-rounders)

I'd say that here they are called a "utility player".

Welcome back to the BAD side DGL! That color combo is stunning. The allure of the X150 is hard to resist and I have to agree with you about the rarity of the car up here in Canada. I'm always getting people out of nowhere asking me about the car when I'm walking up to it. My neighbor buddy who owns a Shelby has decided he wants a Jag too and has just bought a 2018 XE R-sport at the Jag dealer in Thornhill. I went with him to check it out last week and when they heard I had an X150 XKR the manager and salesperson both lit up saying it was extremely rare for them to get them in and they always go quickly. (Maybe they were hoping I would trade it into them... not happening!). Here they were selling my buddy an XE while spending all their time talking about my car, which I thought was kinda funny. They both thought that the XKR would be a collectible one day given the rarity and desirability. Anyway, my buddy bought the XE and is thrilled to be getting it Saturday, so the neighborhood has just grown by one Jag. My work here is done.

Cheers!

I'm sure you will agree, sharx and other fellow members. The rarity of the X150 and because they are not making any more adds to the value and the pleasure of ownership. We certainly are a unique breed to see the value in these fine machines and are rewarded many times over. In time, I agree, the X150 will be a sought after collector item. I'm happy to be in this clowder, again. In Canada we certainly are a rear breed of cat lovers.

c. This engine is very sensitive to oil change neglect, go above and beyond or you will end up paying the mechanic
d. You are overdue on coolant, transmission fluid and filter, brake fluid, air intake filter service if it wasn't already done by PO

Probably should add power steering and ediff fluid change to d after reading some recent treads. I plan on doing all of d including power steering and ediif fluid change this winter. Gave it a good wash 2 times and I'm very happy with the condition of the paint. Will do a 3 step good paint correction this winter to remove minor scratches and whirl marks. Installed a set of aluminum paddle shifters and they feel great.

The manager refused to provide a proper BOS and the CPO inspection sheet. I told him to return my deposit which he gladly did to sell the car the next day to someone else. It was a bad experience.

Since, I've been looking for the right car. The new mid engine C8 corvette has caught the attention of my radar. It appears to be a completely new and modern sports car. The C8 Z06 is said to be coming with a 5.5L 850HP flat crank engine with the sound of a Ferrari. However, I will need to wait another 2 years or so to get one in a convertible. I've been Jagless and sports carless for 4 years (seems more like 1) and didn't want to wait another 2 years before getting into a sporty car to put a smile on my silly face. I picked up a 2014 XKR today with dynamic pack, peformance pack, and black pack with only 13,000 miles for a very reasonable price. It even comes with CPO warranty until June 2020. I should have it home next week. This deal is done and the salesman at the Porsche dealership was excellent. It's good to finally be bad, again. I'll keep this car until the new C8 Z06 comes out and are on the road for a bit. I prefer to buy cars slightly used rather than take the initial new car hit. I bought my other XKR's (2011 175 with 1,200miles, long story, and 2013 with 300miles) almost new. This 2014 XKR convertible is now 5 years old from its in-service date.
Beautiful car
