Default Improve the sound of my exhaust

I am looking to improve the sound of my exhaust, a bit more aggressive. Any suggestions on upgrades? Also I saw a note on the XK Facebook page about removing Fuse 19 to improve the sound. Any thoughts?

Your Public Profile shows that you have a 2010 XKR. You should remove Fuse 19 and see if you like the difference. It's easy to do. Read this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...se-19-a-87400/

You might also want to add a crossover X-Pipe. If that's not loud enough, replace the OEM catalytic converters with 200-cell catalytic converters and harass your neighbors.

Buy a 2017-ish F-TYPE R

Sounds good however you choose to drive it

I'm being facetious, but still...

If you have a 2010 then just press the dynamic button because the exhaust valves are permanently open in that mode. The difference is quite subtle on the 5 litre but it does make a difference.

I added an X-pipe to my '10 XKR and it changed the note quite a bit. It is still louder as well but no where near as loud as my old '07 XKR used to be but that had high flow cats on it plus an X-pipe.

Get a Mina Galleries exhaust.l I have one on my 13XKR and get a lot of favorable feedback as well as a subtle overrun.

I don't know what sound you expect, but I just installed a complete set from Milltek for my XKRS ...and I am very pleased 😃

I got great sounding results with 400 cell aftermarket CATs from DEC on eBay.

For those of you that have done the crossover pipe and/or catback exhausts, did you do a tune as well? If you did not do a tune, any CEL issues? I am debating on doing the X pipe to get a bit more aggressive sound but don't want to deal with a tune for CEL issues. Thanks all!

I had my X-pipe installed about five years ago and have had zero adverse effects, no CELs and nothing else. I did get an XK/R-S tune, but that was not very long ago (thanks, tune provider!) and still no problems at all.
I've seen some people have problems with a 200 cell Catalytic Converter change, but nothing bad with just the exhaust piping.

Does anyone make a bolt-on X pipe that replaces the center muffler?

Years ago when I had an XK8 I had a muffler shop make me an X pipe. I wasn't really impressed. There wasn't much of an X to it. Here's a pic. I would have preferred something with more of an X. This improved the sound a little, but I think that was mostly because the center muffler was removed.

Thanks for the feedback and I think I will try fuse 19 and maybe a different exhaust.

Best sounding system I've heard to date is the larini back box with X pipe center

Buy a Larini exhaust. Worth the money and has a high resale value should you ever want to sell the car and put the OEM back on.

2013 XKR here - and I can't imagine it sounding any better as is with Dynamic mode on. Mine at least 'appears' to have stock exhaust, with X-Pipe. It's a growling and snarling "Jag" of course, with a symphonic POP noise going from 1st to 2nd Gear and an occasionally when the RPMs climb down in manual paddle shift mode. I do like the stock F-Type R sound too as someone posted here. But for the 2+2 GT car that the XKR is, the F-Type isn't better car for at least me.
