Its a 2012 XKR From a friend and school batchmate.

At Jaguar service center Bombay

Engine bay

She's done 19000 kms till now .
WORK DONE before taking delivery
BATTERY CHANGE.
FULL SERVICE WITH OIL/AIR FILTER CHANGES.
AC PARTICULATE FILTER CHANGE
ALL SPARK PLUGS CHANGED
BOTH WIPER BLADES CHANGED
VACCUUM PUMP OIL SEAL CHANGED
TRANSMISSION MOUNT CHANGED.

WORK PENDING .
Front control arm bushes both upper and lower both sides.
Need help regarding procuring the bushes only , as the jag center offers the whole assembly at exorbitant prices.
If bushes are not available separately then would buy the whole assembly.
Thanks

Although JLR only list the complete Front Upper Wishbone assembly, they do list separate bushes for the lower Front Wishbone Arms.

However, suspension parts manufactured by LEMFÖRDER and the same parts can be obtained at lower cost from aftermarket specialists.

A Google search on Lemforder catalogue returns several aftermarket sources.

I did authorize ALL consumable things to be fixed on my ´07 XK Convertible! And had a lot done. In advance - before really necessary.

But not the above! ( didn´t know that )

There was engine oil leakage from the vacuum pump , hence the need for changing the seal.
Its not a routine recommendation

Hi!,
The cost of labour in india by JLR depends on the TIER OF CITY.
TIER C CITIES like lucknow have rates of 2700 INR
TIER B CITIES like hyderabad have 2800 INR
TIER A CITIES like BOMBAY/MUMBAI have 3800 INR.
Thanks!

Hi Graham!
Am planning on sourcing the front upper wishbones (as well as other parts in future) from UK.
As advised found two vendors BERKSHIRE JAG COMPONENTS and SNG BARRATT.
Berk is listing lamforder parts at 117 pounds , SNG has two listings one aftermarket at 166 pounds and other genuine jaguar at 576 pounds.
Want some pointers in the right direction.
Thanks!

The wishbone

Lemforder is OEM so that's the way to go. Eurospare are the only other approved manufacturer for Jaguar suspension parts.

Lemforder or not, replacing every suspension component with crumbling boots is still an expensive proposition. I’ve counted 10 suspension parts on my 2010 XK that have no boot protection after only 15,000 miles. I’m proceeding with waiting for suspension failure rather than the expense and effort of replacing everything as well as an alignment. I’ve been assured that our suspension parts are quite robust and should last awhile before needing replacements. With the very few miles I accumulate, it might be some time before replacement is necessary. Anyway, I never drive in the rain and I’ve noticed the ball joints have quite a bit of factory grease still covering the joints.

LEMFÖRDER manufacture suspension components for several European marques and a study of their catalogue shows several components are used by more than one vehicle manufacturer. The same component can be either with or without a specific vehicle marque identifier in the casting as LEMFÖRDER also supply aftermarket distributors. There is a massive markup on "genuine" components even though the only difference may be an identifier stamped into the casting and a pretty box.

There's a lot of substandard brake components originating in China but I'm not aware of this copying extending to aluminium suspension components. S N G Barratt are very careful with their "aftermarket" options and in many instances these are sourced from the same manufacturer as Jaguar. I've used Berkshire Jag Components but am more careful with their "aftermarket" parts after bad experiences with air filters and oil drain plugs.

Good choice. SNG Barratt is a sponsor of this forum and I have done business with them. I don't recall but it may be possible that they offer discounts to members of the forum. Now this could be my imagination entirely but worth asking when you reach out to them. Best of luck and an absolutely stunning car.
