Came across a credible source for genuine Denso re-manufactured injectors for the 4.2 NA engine.
They're offering 8 remanufactured units for $199, at the moment, at $25 each for a set of 8, compared to $200+ each for the individual new build Jag sourced part. Individuals are around $50 each.
I've bought their product in the past and have had good experience with these genuine 4-port remans. Local shop here in South Florida.
These aren't the Chinese Ebay junk, but actual Denso's rebuilt and flowtested. Used on the port injected 07-09 XK's. I do not know if they're for the SC version of those years.
I'd be interested in that for my kid's XKR, but I can't find a GOOD cross-reference for SC or NA. One parts supplier has them listed, but the SC and NA use different squirts. I'm not going to rely on ONE place for definitive info though.

Agreed. Actually, if it were my R, I'd just send the current injectors away to be re-manufactured and flow-tested rather than buy replacements, new or reman. $40 each. 6 of mine were (who knows why) rusted across the tips, and the XK is my daily driver. So I just bought six 4 port remans from the guys above. Been successful so far. But if they were physically in good shape, sending them out for a cleaning would have been fine.
Thing is, you know that your son's R's injectors have X miles. However the good the re-manufacture, some might have 40K miles, some 100K miles. If you send them away, you know what you get back.
AFAIK, the X100 had 12 port injectors. No idea what the X150 4.2 SC uses. But if you pull them and send them out, you know what you've got. My 2 cents.

Interesting Cee Jay.
Would you suggest changing them on a properly working 110.000 miles 4.2 XKR or is it just required in case of some trouble?
Thanks.

My kid's has a misfire on #3 right now after I fixed everything else. I don't know if it was there before because I got the car in pieces. Regardless, it's such a ****-ton of work on this stupid thing to even LOOK at an injector or coil that when I finally get down TO those things (for the third time) I will make it so I don't ever in my life have to do it again. I'm still trying to save the kid some money of course, so $150 per injector is a bit much.
A better answer for you: If everything works, don't touch it. If you DO take parts apart, change the whole stinkin' lot of everything. It's not worth the trouble to do it again to save a couple hundred bucks, or whatever.
Thanks. Always wondered if the 12 hole (the xx77) would be more efficient than the 4 due to the better dispersion pattern. Of course, never seen the relevant injector tech data to compare the possibilities. Probably a waste of effort, but curious.
The X150 4.2 XKR has higher flow injectors compared to the NA version. Did a bunch of research on this when I was considering higher flow injectors for an E85 conversion.
