If you consider yourself capable of disassembling the cluster and soldering a new display that’s one solution. The other’s getting a new cluster and either have the main dealer program it or get and learn how to use SDD to program a new one.

That sort of looks like delamination. Maybe take it apart, see if anything is wrong?

I had a junkyard cluster spotted and was going to get it and do a deep dive, but some rascal in UA bought it right out from under me.

So Im looking for a donor cluster.

Hey Hummer guess what . Its plug and play !!! no soldering needed.

Let me say this.

I have CONFIRMED the statement that you CAN NOT direct swap the instrument cluster. Even if the replacement is in the same VIN Range.

I obtained a nice looking full cluster from a VIN B11xxxx mine is B15xxxx. Direct swapped. Car would not even come on. Swap back, all is fine. WOW.

Im sure somewhere in somebodys mind this makes sense. The BCM and PCM should hold the important info. Why in the world lock out the car with a simple Readout Swap.

Any Way.

After disassembling the donor Cluster , removing the center screen and installing it in my cluster, took 30 minutes. It WORKED I can actually see the Center Screen , Color ME happy.

OLD

NEW

AND YES , the Speedo Needle is 5 mph Off , Ill go In and reset it later. Im just tickled this improvement is off the scale

Fantastic news and good to know for others who may be in need of this repair, I’ve seen a few displays like yours. And yes the cluster holds critical data for numerous modules in the car.
