Hi,

I did a search of this forum using XKR vs XK and got 496 post results, and then again flipping it to XK to XKR and got 491 post results.

I perused all 496 replies and I believe all of them were questions & comments about the XKR, vs the XK.

I thought it was an interesting observation.

 

Some number were probably due to the R having more things that could need fixing, some number were probably due to the R being more likely to be modified for speed/power, and some number were probably due to R envy by non-R owners, like myself…

 

So what’s your question? If you cant find it using the search button, ask.

 

That's because XKR owners have self-confidence issues and require constant reassurance.

XKR is the BEAST!They should've just made only XKR's and put them in different trims.There should've been no such thing as a base model XK after the year 2012 so the last generations can go out with a bang and also to save Jaguar money cause nobody really wants a base model Jag sports car model if they can help it unless they an old slow motion driving grand pa. They could've updated the interior and infotainment systems in the last generation XKR's instead of wasting the money building base models after the 2012 year.Those weak base model XK is the reason people doubt Jaguar performance and the car can't shine as famous as other cars in the sports car world like it should

no question- I found my answer by using the search box which is the purpose. I thought it was an interesting observation. My take on it is that XKR owners are more into understanding & "driving" their cars and XK owners view them as just transportation. There probably is a better way to say it.

 

Lol, XKR owners I know are 60 plus who simply bought the best version and they dont care about being on a forum, or knowing how to drive it like it was intended. As for me, Im not into NA cars because I do my own work and since I own SC Range Rover, I want the Jag to be as simple as possible.

I expect it is mostly to do with the fact that the XKRs are easily tuned so people discuss this a lot and as they are easily tuned they keep breaking them and then have to discuss fixing them a lot

It was the same with the FIAT Coupe I had. The forums were basically to discuss the Turbo version and how to get more power. Most broke!!! My son still has our N.A. version fom 1997 ...

 

More like a fact.But if you like slow cars,why even waste your money buying a Jag?Why buy a cool car if you can't show people how cool it is compared to the so called competition?Yeah,i wouldn't waste my money just to show people i'm a slow poke at everything and my car is too...the jokes on you.They got luxury hyundai's and stuff for that and this car is almost a decade old now and there you is with a base model when u could've bought something luxuried out for that that's newer.But no,you wanted the cool factor and wanted to pretend you have an XKR.Do we have to come and unpimp your ride and take the fake "R" badge off of it?🫠

 

Haha! Lick those wounds and your taint. Where’s my R badge? I dont see it. If all you bought the XKR is for speed you effed up. There are faster cars. I own 4 jags, and wrecking them or showing off is not my thing.

 

at the time the vehicles and the money were available, i bought the XK because it was white and all the XKRs were black. but i also warned myself that i probably wasn't ready for the power yet. it's my first "real" sportscar. i'm still in my 40's therefore still dumb and childish enough to slam it into a lightpole if i'm not careful.

 

Never came across a faster car that can beat my XKR and I guess you never lived a little to find that out for yourself.I'm talking Hell cats,ZL1 camaros,Shelby GT500 ALL left in the dust by my XKR.The 1 and only car in this world that i raced that put up a match that i couldn't easily spank like the rest and the race ended in a tie is a 2021 Audi RS6.A 2022 BMW M series almost gave me a gap from the red light but after like 6 seconds that was easy to gap too with the XKR,so that falls into the category with the hellcats and things lol.But now since you brutally underestimate the XK and how I informed you that it's a force to be reckoned with,why did you make your XK look like a sham with quad exhaust,and i'm talking literally in shambles 🤣its looking like somebody stole the badges off of it and tried to sell them back to you on ebay🫠 That's the only way to show people you not driving a hot girl summer Nissan Altima

There seems to be two "Leftwich" here making similar posts. Barry and Liony. Not sure if you are the same person or related.

You are very proud of your car (and should be). Calling out XK owners for not have an "R" is immature. People buy / drive their cars for all types of reasons. Should we call you our for not having an "S"? I'm new to XK ownership. Absolutely love it. Thought about buying an "R" but, felt like many of the owners may have driven a bit too hard or tracked the car. Didn't want someone's trashed up toy. Plus 1 second faster 0 - 60 isn't really needed.

As far as how fast your car is. For a 2013 it's one of the fastest production cars. Not even close for current model year cars. Here are a few 2013 that are faster:
