Default Intermitent hesitation acceleration / Jaguar Le Port Marly

At times, the engine goes, stops, goes, stops, like this, it is pulling and stopping, hesitation at acceleration, we just have a service done. It did it before and after. What do you suggest adding some water remover fluid? Is it not bad for the gas filter? sorry I reopen a thread but I rather try to fix everything that is weird asap. (first day we had a problem when leaving the dealership in france, the transmission transfer box was acting strange, they had to re-initialise all. I took the report. Also the oil change was not done finally by jaguar it was more than one year, and despite they knew we were to drive 1500 km the tire pressure was really a mess, I regret not to have it checked before. I am using 95 gas. It does not seems to do it if i engage the sport mode.

Interesting. It's a 2010, right? Shouldn't it be under warranty? How long has this been going on?

it has happenned 3 times on 4000 km. very hard to reproduce when needed. In less than 2 weeks the constructor warranty expire.

I'd get in touch with Jaguar corporate about the problem. Say it is ongoing and you want them to honor fixing the issue should it take longer than the warranty since you Jaguar has tried to fix before the warranty expired and was unsuccessful. This should be a part of the original workorder.

It may require one of the Jaguar dealer technicians to drive the car until they experience the problem themselves. This may be the only way to get it repaired under your warranty coverage given your time constraint.

Thank you all, I would not want leave the car too long, 3 times on 4000 km, to drive on 1000 km will be dificult for them and I think it has been enough now at the dealer, I will add some fuel additives and maybe try a few times some 98 gas.

and the car does it when i lightly accelerate or when i barely push the accelerator, if i push it stronger it seems to disapear but for a while it is pretty surprising.

Hi all, so here we go with the same little issue again, after changing the 2 air sensor , same thing happen, light acceleration and the engine goes like on and off on and off...they also did a re programation.
I am going to contact a few UK dealers to see what they think.
and since there is no gas filter on this xkr, it may really be bad to add some octane booster injector cleaner or water remover?

Thank you!

what scares me its like people says water remove can block the gas filter but since I don't have any it may goes to the engine, it does particules after ....

jaguar said otherwise if the problems continues they will send the injectors to be cleaned somewhere , it is taking 3 days.

With the direct cylinder injected engine, I don't think you will have luck with a fuel system cleaner. Again, it is a chemical that can do no harm when used as directed, but the gains are no longer like that of the older multi-port injection systems or carburetors most grew up with.

Does the car idle smoothly...or does it wander (wander = possible vacuum leak).

I'm trying to think about problems that cause "surging at low RPM". O2 sensors are another known animal, but it sounds like you have checked those. Manifold Air Sensor is another. In fact that is hardest part about most modern cars is that is is overloaded with sensors that can cause more "hiccups" than I can begin to guess at!

What ever it is, you have proven it is "intermittent" which is the worst of them all to find....

PDF is from a 07-09 manual

it wanders yes, it goes on and off on and off. people can hear it around, its not humiliating too, but when that's happen, the only way is to release the accelerator or push it which is really not needed at times!!

at very low acceleration, you know as soon as i start pushing a bit...

look i drove 80 miles tonight and it has runs perfect so...i do not really care about it, I know they will fix it or we will live with it and this is it, i do not want in anyway fall into some kind of drama anymore, and i start really trusting the car, the car do not go on the left like it used too and i can keep these original dunlod tires , and i guess if i go to mess around on a parking lot i may actually correct the problem again more. it's all good in the hood!

I will address this to Miguel before we do the injector cleaning thing. Thanks again, my hats off to you.
Yes the car idle perfect.

I just have sometime a pansauce noise when I turn off the engine from the exhaust air in the pipes.

it always happened when you re-accelerate, like after a turn, a roundabout, etc...

thanks Vince,

and i wanted to say since its my 10th jag and its the one where i spent the most, not only the insurance is cheaper ( after 10th, no i m joking) but its maybe the car where i will loose the less money, don't ask me why, i have no idea and was not thinking so before to buy it, but hey, i looked 4 months after i got it and prices are the same, only 3 for sale in france and prices after 4 months hold it pretty well, i could almost resell it at the same price. service was 300 euros, i will keep the original tires again 10000 km easy...its was just a note to tell buyers...
my constructor warranty just expired but i have one more year starting now.
