Ipod Interface
I have a 2007 XKR. I have the factory installed Audio Connectivity Module (ACM). All this does is play the Ipod thru the speakers which sounds great but you cannot control any features, play lists, see album art on the Nav screen. All you can do is change songs from the steering column. Now in the new 2010 XKR, the new head unit can control it all. If you look a the Jag website, it says it shows you album art, you can control songs playlists and everything. So does anyone know if you can just swap out the head units? I asked the service manager at my local dealer and he could not give me a straight answer. I would seem to me to be easy but the service manager says the wiring is quite different between the models. Any thoughts or ideas?

I have an 08 S-type. In that year the ipod (aux) interface is an add on to the factory audio. It does not display titles/art etc. If you go to the audio menu while it it playing the first 4 or 5 discs displayed represent the 1st 4 or number playlists defined on the ipod device. (even though you see no names)
the last cd shown is a playall list.
hope this helps.
