IPod / IPhone FM Modulation Connectivity to 2006+ XKR
Hello all,
Just wanted to share that after looking at many options I went with the following to listen to my Iphone on my recently purchased 2008 XKR Conv Portfolio:
iSimple: WiFli
Item# IS713
The iSimple WiFli IS713 - FM/RDS Transmitter w/ Wireless Remote- iPod, iPhone
It looks a little cheap, it was cheap but it works a charm.
You download a free app which searches for the best station then you tune your radio to that station and bingo your are listening to your Music.
I have used a couple of these in the past on other cars but this one works really unbelievably well!

Thanks ermoalfa for the feedback. I assume the reception is crystal clear etc. as I've tried at least 2 FM transmitters (one was a Belkin) in my 2007XK using many different frequencies and the quality was pathetic - way too much noise and hissing. I wonder what makes this so much better as its essentially the same technology? i.e.an FM transmitter. I note that it seeks out the best frequency to transmit but I can only conclude that the FM transmitter is better.
Anyone got any theories?

This unit comes with a Iphone App which searches out the best channel and automatically tunes your phone to that station, then when you press seek on your Jag radio it will find the same. I think that makes the difference!
Plugging it into the glove box and running the cable behind and then under the centre console means you only see the end bit of the cable.
My rule is if it's not raining the top is down so maybe I am not hearing if any slight hissing but overall I am very happy with this solution.

I've got an FM transmitter for my Ipod, and what I've found is that it is not the QUALITY of the transmitter that matters as much as WHERE YOU LIVE. If you live where there's lots of radio stations filling up the dial, your Ipod is going to sound like a really bad radio station. If you live in a reasonably rural area, you're going to think FM transmitters are the greatest thing ever.
