Default Ireland trip and only saw 1 xk

Took a 13 day tour of Ireland, only saw 9 Jags and only 1 xk, seems like Audi, VW and Mercedes are real popular.

Yeah, when I was in Ireland in 2015 same deal, you would figure there were a lot more. Of course the cost of gas where it is in Europe maybe we shouldn't be surprised. Gas guzzlers are not popular!

Just got back from Rome. A couple of F-types.... and a surprising amount of the old X-types. I think it's due to their relatively small size.
SmartCars are EVERYWHERE. Best part? People are now parking them perpendicular to the curb, like motorcycles.

The reason there are so few is the cost of annual road tax. because they are large petrol engines pre 2008 cars are €1,800 per year and newer cars are €2,400 per year. all you see on Irish roads are Diesel cars which for some strange reason are deemed to be cleaner and therefore have low tax rates. your average BMW 5 series or E Class Merc is only €200 per year for tax. its a shame as there are now very few V8 engine cars left, all you ever hear on the roads is the rattle of diesel engines.
