Jaguar Breakers

Buying a used engine from a breaker is always a crapshoot even if you have done your due diligence. A recommendation from a member of this Forum is just one piece of that due diligence, but is certainly not the sole reason to rely on to make that purchase because there may be other buyers with negative experiences with that seller. Does the seller offer a written guarantee? What is the seller's return policy? How many miles are on the engine and did the seller run it and have diagnostic data including, but not limited to, oil pressure at idle and at operating speeds and cylinder head compression test values for all cylinders? Make sure that you take notes or record everything the seller tells you about the engine, write it up as a memo to your file, and send a copy to the seller (with receipt confirmation) before you buy it. You are the only one who can protect yourself in case the seller misrepresented that engine.
You can also Google "Review (name of breaker)". Good luck!

Have you tried EuroJag? I purchased a 2.7 Diesel engine from them a few years ago. They seem to have a lot of spares usually.
