When this has been an ongoing issue with this specific model from 2007 all the way to 2011 models reporting the same problem, the manufacturer should acknowledge the issue and deal with it. Regardless of the age, this should have been a recall for this issue. There are threads out there I have found going back to 2008 with XK and XKR having this de-lamination problem.
You've been quoted $500 above for your fix and it'll be better than new. The 4.0 guys faced a number 10 times that to replace the entire engine.
