Default Jaguar XK 2008 / Engine overheating - High Temprature

While driving my 2008 XK I had a Engine High Temprature in yellow color and then Engine Overheating warning light in red color.
after driving few more miles steam could be seen coming from right side of hood where coolant reservoir is. Upon opening the hood, the coolant fluid inside reservoir was boiling and from under the reservoir heavy high pressure leaking - coolant fluid was all under the car.
I am hoping it’s a burst hose and not water pump.
any ideas please ??

Sadly you may have warped heads / blown head gasket due to carrying on driving so be prepared for extra checks and repairs.

So after "engine high temp" and then "engine overheating" light came on you kept on driving for a few miles!?

Have you make work on the engine recently ? You will control the thermostat is not close.
Yous wait that the engine was cold and you start engine and control input and output temperature on your radiator. Remove the reservoir cap before test

So sorry to hear. I warped the cylinder heads on my Range Rover exactly like this, but I turned the engine off immediately... Good luck to you.

The gas station mechanic says he did a pressure test and it’s only an expansion tank leak which he’s replacing. I am hoping he’s properly diagnosed it and that it’s the extent of the damage. I am hoping he is right, after all he’s just a gas station mechanic albeit with plenty of experience. My fingers are crossed. I’m thinking if head gasket was blown or cylinder head warped it would show in pressure test ?? I know very little about cars, im a hotel and travel man 😁 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
